Not if London Dog Tails has got anything to do with it. Out in July. Will be keeping an eye on it, even if I am a cat man. Pretty sure it’s aimed at humans and not dogs.

Join us at Bite

| May 25th, 2007

Bite is hiring. Get in touch if you think you fit the bill and please do pass this on to any smart, creative people you know that might do. Email ukhr at bitepr dot com with a copy of your CV and tell the lovely people at Bite which job you are interested in. Just waiting for TWL to get in touch.

Just in case I need to remind you - I work at Bite

And all the animals that temporarily set up home there?

On a related note . . . there should be much more of this in London. Everyone likes green stuff. Especially in grey places.

Hmmmmm

Just hit Twitter with 30+ cat related tweets but no change. Have asked questions. Must be a bit of a delay ;)

Facebook Frenzy

| May 24th, 2007

So, Facebook is everywhere now. I’m now in the strange position where I have friends, colleagues, journalists and clients all in one place. It could all go horribly wrong.

More people are talking about Myspace than Facebook on Twitter (see TweetVolume graph below) but everything is aligned nicely for it to go bigger with recent news and the word “poke” about to enter the mainstream with a different meaning - even if there seems to be some weirdness surrounding the launch - “Some of the behind-the-scenes stuff makes the young company appear a bit naive; one source said Facebook had said partners were not allowed to use the terms “MySpace” or “social network” in their discussions of the launch”

PS - Interesting to see that cats and dogs are fairly evenly represented on Twitter but the dogs have it by 20 tweets. I prefer cats so I’m going to go and try and tip the balance.

The Technorati Monster

Can’t decide if I find all the various error screens funny or not. I guess it depends what mood I’m in.

Spam and Bull

| May 21st, 2007

Firstly, the comment spam on the blog is really starting to get to me. I need to properly look into it but somthing has to change. I can no longer handle the mental highs and lows associated with the sheer volume of comment spam I’m getting. Any ideas on a postcard please before I hit Google.

Secondly, I wanted to shout out about the latest work from Poke for Orange - Spot the Bull. A really nice idea executed really well where a bull is kitted out with a GPS transmitter and stuck in a field full of cams. Then, you are asked to guess where “Derek” (the bull) will be at 3pm each day to win Glastonbury tickets. Nice. Favourite touch is the farmer’s voice audio clip that kicks in when you turn the display grid on and off.

Orange and Glastonbury is a sponsorship that always sticks in my mind for good reasons and it’s good to see another great idea from Orange (and its agencies) - especially after the Text Me Home tent a few years back.

Great ideas are more valuable today than ever before. Discuss . . .
Nice ambient work for Mondo Pasta via Yacco’s blog. Further discussion here, which interestingly comes top on Google under Mondo Pasta.

The real digital divide

| May 10th, 2007

Great article in the Guardian by Richard Sarson looking at the use of the internet by children. Whilst we all know this (or at least have a good idea), it’s great to hear it straight from the source.

Includes the following quote which made me think. . . “to most grownups, a geek is someone who can use a computer. To us, a geek is someone who can build a computer and its applications himself”.
