I know this is twice in one day, but I'm a Detroiter and everyone is talking about this around here.

Really, it's no surprise for me since half of the people I know are involved in the auto industry and I have worked with some of our automotive clients. The trends are going to be focused on keeping people connected in cars that can basically drive themselves. That way the time we spend commuting can be used to market to us more effectively than radio ads.

Hopefully, the fact that marketers will be able to access drivers during their commute will at the very least off-set the costs of ubiquitous connectivity... but that does open a whole other can of worms. :)

Hey - that's the idea - you're more than welcome round these parts. Great insight, thanks! We know in the back of our minds what's coming and it's pretty full on right? There's a battle going on right now - ubiquitous connectivity versus ubiquitous advertising opportunities ! I'd always have to bet that the consumer will choose and the advertisers/marketers will be forced to stop shouting/interrupting and start adding value in other ways. We're only just beginning to start realise what's written on the label of that massive can of worms you speak of!
