Chinwag folks will *NOT* be on the door on the night, so if you turn up expecting to get in because you know one of us, you won’t be admitted unless your name is on the registration list that the university door staff have.

I know most of you have registered fully, but there’s always a few peeps who dont read the instructions on the packet for one reason or t’other

Charles Arthur has let off some steam about PR. He’s had a shocker of a week. Great insight into why PR needs to get a whole lot more “digital”.

On a related note . . . there should be much more of this in London. Everyone likes green stuff. Especially in grey places.

Ask is getting lot of stick for this. If we all joined the “revolution” then wouldn’t all online information just go through another company?

Also - think some of the copy is very dodgy on the site itself (smells a bit of “tracked changes”) and annoyed me that when I remembered the URL having seen a poster, I Googled it and the paid-for result looked like it was pointing to ask.com and not the site I was looking for. I actually gave up and waited untill I saw the poster again . . . when I realised it was .org. Then it was just a bit of a let down.

PS - Sorry for being rubbish on the blog after a flying start. You can blame DIY and a lot of work for that one.

Will golfer Fuzzy Zoeller succeed in trying to sue the owner of an IP address responsible for the posting of “defamatory remarks” on his Wikipedia entry? Probably not, but this is something that is surely going to come up time and time again. One to keep an eye on if you’re interested in all thinks wiki.

According to the actual Wikipedia entry, which in a twist of irony is tracking the case, the proceedings started on February 13th. Even if he does succeed and effectively set a precedent for all future disputes, the event will forever be captured in history. Funny how things linger online, even if you try and change them.

The CIPR has launched its social media guidelines. And The World’s Leading has ripped them apart. When I get a moment I’m going to read them myself properly and make up my own mind, but for now - some of the initial responses to it did make me chuckle. . . .
